The American Disabilities Act came into being in 1990, signed by the then president George H.W. Bush. This Act prohibits the discrimination of people with disabilities. Privately owned or leased places like hotel, restaurant, hospital, schools, colleges, day care centers, sports stadiums, movie theatre and many more should not discriminate people with disabilities. 

The telecommunication and internet companies must provide interstate and intrastate communication services to the people with disabilities in speech and hearing and help them to communicate over the telephone. A wide variety of provisions to the disabled persons which includes state immunity, impact on insurance providers, retaliation prohibition, illegal drug usage and fees for the attorney must be available.

 The employers must provide reasonable accommodation to the disabled. This includes modifications in the work environment that will help the disabled person to participate and perform proper job roles at their work place. All businesses are expected to take the necessary measures to adhere to the ADA compliance.
